This genealogical information is abstracted from an 1882 obituary for Robert Conn. The newspaper clipping was pasted in a book labeled Thomas B. Andrews, his book, November 10th, 1879. The newspaper from which it was clipped is unidentified. The complete article was scanned and is available on this website:

… Three brothers – John W., Robert and Andrew had come to that county (Richland) fro the East. From there they all removed to Van Wert county. First John W., then Robert, then Andrew. …. First John W. died many years ago, then Andrew died but a few years since and now it becomes our duty to chronicle the death of the last of the trio, Robert, who died last Sunday morning at his residence, two miles North of town. Robert Conn was born in Cecil county, Md., November 26th, 1800, and was at the time of his death, 82 years and 14 days. He removed to Richland county, Ohio, in the year 1824, and to Van Wert county in 1852. He was a farmer by occupation, a quiet, unassuming but honest man.

Some eight years ago a most painful accident resulted in the death of Mr. Conn’s wife, by her being thrown from a wagon attached to a frightened team….

For sixty-one years, Mr. Conn was a member of the Presbyterian Church….
